Leg 14 - Collins, MS to Brookhaven, MS

What can I say - a picture is worth a thousand words. Mom is ok except a sore neck and a bruise on her arm, but the truck is likely totaled. Despite our precautions, 53 miles into our ride, a wreckless driver hit her from behind. We'll be here a few days trying to make arrangements for transportation and the disposition of her vehicle. This adventure may be over. Bottom photo is the offending vehicle - brakes not applied until 60 feet from impact.

I know you're bummed, but just think how much you have accomplished thus far! We are all so very proud of you and we are grateful that your Mom loves you enough to put herself in harms way to protect you. Thank you, Brooke. April and I were very worried about you yesterday, but glad to hear you're doing okay today!

The Gravy Train may have come to a screetching hault, but oh what a ride it was!

We love you!

Sorry to hear about the mis-hap. We hope you and Brooke are OK - that's the most important thing.

Let us know if we can help out in any way. We can certainly drive out to meet you and/or assist with any plans you and Brooke may decide to undertake. So just give us a call if we can help.

Hi D, Been following each day. Keep up the good work and trek on to Texas. The tuck can be replaced; rent something and finish your goal. Brooke's a tough lady and I know she wants you to finish what you started. Keep the faith and go for it Babe. We'll keep you in our prayers. This may be your wall but don't give in.
Love, Mary Beth
